NETWAR — Real-Time Territory Strategy
40 seconds. One map. Everyone fighting for the same cities.
Netwar is a real-time multiplayer strategy war game where players compete online...
What is NETWAR?
NETWAR is a browser-based multiplayer strategy game where you expand your territory by sending armies between cities, outmaneuver your rivals diplomatically, and occasionally flatten their capital with a rocket.
No installations. No downloads. Open the link, enter a name, hit JOIN.
How it plays
Every match starts with a shared map — same cities, same connections, same starting position for everyone. You produce troops automatically, then click to send them toward enemy cities. Overwhelm their garrison and the city is yours.
The longer you hold more cities, the faster you grow. But so does everyone else.
What makes it interesting

Fog of war — some maps hide enemy positions until your borders touch theirs. You're flying blind until it's too late.
Rockets — 500 gold buys you one shot at any city on the map. 50/50 chance it's gone forever. Great for turning the game around. Terrifying to receive.
SAM sites — spend 300 gold to give a city a 65% chance of shooting down incoming rockets. The paranoid survive.
Alliances & betrayal — you can offer a ceasefire to any player. Break it and you take a 60-second defense debuff. Trust carefully.
Factories & trade — build a factory near an enemy factory and you both earn passive income from the connection. Sometimes cooperation is more profitable than war.
Mines — gold and iron mines scatter the map. Send troops to claim them for passive income. Enemies can take them back.
Multiplayer
Matches fill automatically through matchmaking — join a lobby, wait a few seconds, and you're in. Or create a private room and send a code to friends.
All players see the same map, the same armies moving in real time, the same explosions.
Modes

- 🌑 Fog of War — limited vision, information is a weapon

Free to play. Works in any browser. No account needed.

I will upload a text file where you can find the link to my website. Since I haven’t purchased a domain yet, it may appear as an IP address, but you can use this link to play multiplayer, create a lobby with your friends, and enjoy the game together without needing any additional applications.

I’m aware that my game, which I developed entirely on my own, still has some important shortcomings. Whether you like it or not — even harsh criticism is welcome, because it helps me generate new ideas.
I hope you enjoy the game. Have fun!

I've had a play of NETWAR through your itch.io link and had a lot of fun playing your game.
The first thing that struck me was how the UI was so nicely designed. You have a really nice colour scheme that compliments the aesthetics of the game and everything is clear and easy to read, great work there!
I noticed when I increased the game speed through the bottom left icon, that the top right gear/settings icon took layer priority over the game speed icon, so I couldn't see what setting I was on. If the game speed icon was shifted to the left that would be visible and nice to see.
A tutorial would be really nice and helpful, especially to teach complete novices the ropes as there is a lot happening within the game. Maybe a helpful guide that could show you how to get started, where to click, which settlements to attack and how the basics work. Once I experimented with the gameplay and figured certain mechanics out, it was really engaging and a fun experience.
One other thing I noticed was the upgrade/building panel. If I had the currency to purchase things, I would place those on the different cities, but afterwards when my currency was depleted the icon didn't change, and to change it I had to click on one of the speed icons to switch it. Maybe switching the cursor to the standard icon after currency is depleted it may be more intuitive?
Overall, this was a great game and felt like a different approach and breathe of fresh air to the RTS genre. Quite a unique gem of a game. Great work, look forward to seeing more as development continues to expand the game.
I will take your feedback into consideration. Thank you for your feedback.
